MIRACLE VILLAGE FARM PROJECT

Miracle Kidz Safe House

Miracle Village Farm was born from a question we could no longer ignore: what happens to vulnerable children when they grow older?
For many years, Miracle Kidz Safe House has provided care, safety and stability to children who have experienced difficult beginnings. As some of the children in our care grew older, particularly those with special needs and developmental challenges, we became increasingly aware of the gap that exists between childhood care and independent adulthood.
Not every young adult is ready to live independently at 18. Some need more time, more support and a safe environment where they can continue developing practical skills, confidence and independence at their own pace.
That is why Miracle Village Farm was created.
The farm is a 9.9-hectare property near Philadelphia in the Western Cape. Our vision is to develop it into a safe, practical and nurturing environment where young adults with special needs can learn life skills, take responsibility, participate in meaningful daily activities and develop as much independence as their individual abilities allow.
The goal is not simply to provide accommodation.
We want Miracle Village Farm to become a place where young people can learn through real-life experience. This may include gardening, animal care, food production, household responsibilities, basic maintenance and other practical activities that encourage routine, confidence, participation and self-worth.
At the same time, Miracle Kidz Safe House will continue its important work of providing a place of safety for vulnerable children.
We have now reached one of the most important practical stages in developing Miracle Village Farm: securing the perimeter of the property.
Our current fundraising goal is to install a Clear-View security fence around the farm, at an estimated cost of approximately R1.6 million.
For us, this fence is not a cosmetic improvement.
It is an essential part of creating a safe environment for vulnerable young people, staff, animals, equipment and the programmes we hope to develop on the property. A secure perimeter will allow us to move forward with future development while helping to protect the people and resources entrusted to our care.
We know that R1.6 million is a substantial amount. We are therefore approaching the project one contribution, one section and one partnership at a time.
Every donation brings us closer to securing another part of the farm.
For companies and employees supporting us through Benevity, your contribution becomes part of something tangible and lasting. It helps create the physical boundary within which a much bigger vision can grow.
This is about more than building a fence.
It is about creating a safe place where vulnerable young people are given time, opportunity and support to discover what they are capable of.
Our hope is that Miracle Village Farm will become a place where young people with special needs can continue to grow beyond childhood, develop useful skills, experience dignity and belonging, and build a future with greater purpose and independence.
With your support, we can take another important step towards making that future possible.
